The Meeting of the EFSMA Executive Committee has been held on 20th April 2024 in Istanbul, Turkey.
During the Meeting President Maurizio Casasco and the Executive Committee members have discussed about the latest updates on the recognition of Sports Medicine as specialty in Europe: after the minimum number of 11 Member States have submitted an IMI module of the European Commission, Sports Medicine has been added to the 7th Draft Delegated Act amending Annex V to Directive 2005/36/EC.
Another important topic of the meeting has been the next European Congress of Sports Medicine, that will be held in Bucharest, Romania, on 25-27 September 2025.
The meeting has been hosted in Istanbul, that will host the EFSMA 2027 Congress, held in the same year as a major sporting event, the European Games, that will be organized as well in Istanbul.
