Here you can find the Delegated Act, number 7894/24, included in ANNEX V of Directive 2005/36/EU which has been published on 1st June 2024:
Commission Delegated Decision (EU) 2024/1395 of 5 March 2024 amending Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the evidence of formal qualifications and the titles of training courses (notified under document C(2024) 1357) (europa.eu)
The recognition of Sports Medicine in all Europe has always been the main objective of EFSMA, a long roadmap started in 2005 by its former President, Prof. Norbert Bachl together with Prof. Fabio Pigozzi as Secretary General, and continued with the successive Presidents, Prof. Andrè Debruyne and the late Prof. Joseph Cummiskey together with their respective Executive Committees and the UEMS-MJC President for Sports Medicine, Prof. Nicolas Christodoulou.
An extraordinary goal that proves the added value of Sports Medicine, that is based on the medical screening for the certification, the education for a healthy lifestyle, the fight against non-transmittable diseases through the right prescription of physical exercise as a means of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention.
In this moment of great satisfaction and joy, for all the member National Associations that have contributed to the fulfilment of this procedure and for the whole EFSMA Executive Committee, starting from President Maurizio Casasco, who has always devoted his full attention to this project since his first term as EFSMA President in 2019, doing the very best to promote and raise awareness on this topic, and from EFSMA Secretary General, Prof. Anca Ionescu.
